it is a whole different game from bfbc2 but you will have to buy bfbc2 to play it because vietnam is installed during an update and when you buy vietnam you get a 6kb unlock key. You start vietnam by entering bfbc2's main menu and pressing right to go to vietnam so yes, you will have to get bfbc2 to get vietnam.Is Battlefield Bad company 2-Vietnam an Independent game or just an expansion to BFBC2 ?
its independent. BFBC2 doesnt take place in vietnam even

Its totally different but it is a game add-on so you have to have bad company 2
