Running bfbc2 as a cd and being able to play vietnam through steam?

i have battlefield bad compay2 on cd and i wanted to get the Vietnam extra but its less expensive on steam. will i be able to play veitnam steam version if i have bfbc2 uploaded on my pc. it says that bfbc2 veitnam needs the first game to run. or will i have to buy vietnam as a cdRunning bfbc2 as a cd and being able to play vietnam through steam?
You can't get Vietnam from Steam if you don't have BC2 on Steam.

You can't play the Steam version if you use the retail copy. What you should use is EA Store, as someone else noted.



The odd thing is... you already have Vietnam. Did you get that huge update that took a million years? That contained Vietnam. Even with EA Downloader, all you'll get is a special unlock code. However the Steam version is different, since the Steam version updates through Steam rather than through the standard BFBC2Updater.
