How to change weapons and gadgets in BFBC2?

I go to multiplayer and scroll down to weapons and gadgets....then it shows me weapons in dark grey(That i havent unlocked) and white ones that i have...now there is a star under the weapon in the kit that i am using...recon, its the m24, i dont want to use that gun, how do i change it to the type 88? i have tried for a long time. thanks(:How to change weapons and gadgets in BFBC2?
okay if you know how to change classes your 80% there before pressing (A or X) to select class use the d pad to scroll left and right high lighting the weapons if a list of weapons does not pop up as soon as you highlight it press(A,X) thus bringing up a list of available weapons * note that you need to level up your classes medic . assault. re con or engineer to unlock weapons and to level classes you need to achieve exp points in game



also if your in game and want to change gadgets its the d pad xbox or ps3 it does not matter
